Artist Bio

Muta áliah Green is a visual artist based in Milwaukee, WI. Although primarily self taught, they’ve completed one year worth of art school from UW-Milwaukee before leaving to immerse themselves in the Milwaukee art scene by working with established muralists and learning from local artists of all disciplines.

Their practice consists of acrylic paint, paint markers, and oil pastels. Green draws inspiration from all art disciplines, but has a special focus on those rooted in expressionism, surrealism, and storytelling. These influences help shape their exploration of how trauma impacts the psyche and the process on healing throughout their work.

Muta áliah’s art has been featured in various group exhibitions throughout Milwaukee, such as the Bronzeville Artwalk, Some Fools, La Gente Art Gallery, and Mitchell Street Arts.
