Artist Bio

Muta áliah Green is a visual artist based in Milwaukee, WI. Although primarily self taught, they’ve completed one year worth of art school from UW-Milwaukee before leaving to immerse themselves in the Milwaukee art scene to develop their craft. 

Using acrylic paint Green style of art takes heavy influence from expressionism, storytelling and draws from the ethos of punk culture to depicts the impact trauma as on the psyche and the nonlinear process on healing. These influences help shape their art in ways that honors the emotionally charged and often turbulent reality of the societal issues they take on and dignifies the everyday who people face them. 

Muta áliah’s art has been featured in various group exhibitions throughout Milwaukee, such as the Bronzeville Artwalk, Mitchell Street Arts, and Tooth + Nail Gallery. They most recently completed an art residency at 100% MKE in Milwaukee, WI in 2026
